Jonathan was selected for the NZ Junior squad in 2015 and raced for New Zealand at the Junior World Championships in Rio; he and Carl were selected for the squad in 2016 and competed in the Netherlands.

Between their rowing training for the university teams, Jonathan is studying for a degree in Economics, and Carl will study Agricultural Science with a minor in Climate Change.
