Despite a fog-delayed start to racing at Karapiro last Saturday, our crews performed well with great contributions from rowers and coxswains on and off the water throughout the weekend.
With the top Auckland, Waikato and Bay of Plenty crews in action, there was plenty of tough competition. Our crews made it to 10 A finals and five B finals.
Once the fog cleared on Saturday it was sunny and hot. Regatta officials did their best to make up time and the crews finally left the lake at about 6.30pm.
Chef Mitch and the team of parent helpers had dinner ready as the last crews walked in the door.
Special thanks to Arlo Webb McRae who has been unable to row due to injury, but who came along and helped out in the boat park and at the club all weekend.
Congratulations to our finalists and good luck for the North Island champs next weekend.
