2025-2026 Results

  • MAADI 2026

    Mount Albert Grammar School Rowing celebrated an outstanding week at the 2026 Maadi Cup at Lake Ruataniwha, Twizel, bringing home an exceptional haul of medals and continuing to build the proud legacy of MAGSROW.

    Leading the charge was Ted Rattray, who delivered a phenomenal regatta with gold in the Under 17 Boys Single Sculls and bronze in the Under 18 Boys Single Sculls, showcasing both talent and remarkable versatility across age groups.

    Our Under 16 Boys Double Sculls crew of Linus Ingram and Caleb Vincent powered their way to gold, while the Under 17 Girls Coxed Quad crew of Sabine Gargan, Olivia Appleton, Sofia Gough, and Mackenzi Goff, expertly steered by cox Jai Sharma, raced superbly to claim bronze.

    A truly historic moment came from our Under 15 Boys Eight, who won bronze and etched their names into MAGSROW history as the first Maadi Eight crew to medal since 1961. Congratulations to Tom Gaskell, Moses Collis, Te Moana Nui a Kiwa Setoga, Max Gough, Elliott Bray, Cam Brown, Connor Ruane, Alfie Ferguson, and cox Johnny Gilmore on this extraordinary achievement.

    A number of our students in the U18 Squad also received top 10 badges. marking a wonderful end to their school rowing

    These results reflect the dedication, resilience, and commitment of our athletes, coaches, and supporters, and the legacy created by this squad will continue to inspire future generations of MAGSROW rowers.

  • NISS 2026

    Our Rowers gave it everything this weekend. We came away with 3 golds, U17 Boys Single, U18 Boys Single - Ted Rattray, U16 Boys Double - Linus Ingram, Caleb Vincent, and 2 Silver - U17 Girls Double - Sabine Gargan and Olivia Appleton, U17 Girls Quad - Sabine Gargan, Olivia Appleton, Sofia Gough, Mackenzi Goff. We were so close to some bronze medals, pipped on the line. Great results across the whole squad with a huge number of A and B Finals.

    Mount Albert Grammar School also came 5th out of 39 schools (and the 2nd co ed school) in the Derbyshire Shield.

    The final hurdle before Maadi.. bring it on!!

  • Auckland College Sport Regatta (Lake Karapiro)

    Amazing weekend of rowing for MAGSROW. 17 A finals and 4 B finals resulted in an amazing tally of Medals. 5 Gold Medals, 7 Silver Medals and 2 Bronze Medals. The hard work is finally paying off and showing great depth within our squad. NISS regatta coming up in two weeks!! Let’s go MAGSROW!!

  • Milford Head of the Harbour Regatta 07 Feb

    Our Novice and U16 rowers had an amazing regatta despite difficult rowing conditions last weekend at Lake Pupuke. We are very much looking forward to the AKL College Sport Regatta at Karapiro next weekend.

  • Karapiro Christmas Regatta 11-14 Dec

    We had a wonderful weekend of outstanding results at the Karapiro Christmas Regatta. We made 16 A finals and 4 B finals this year, a marked improvement from 6 A finals last year. The squad is feeling very buoyant! Roll on the 2nd half of the season, and the grind to MAADI 2026.

  • Laka Karapiro Memorial Regatta 14-16 Nov 25

    Our squads produced some outstanding results over this past weekend, and we are very proud of them. The dedication, the training, and the effort has been rewarded. Thank you so much to our Coaches for guiding our athletes and giving so much of your time to the MAGSROW Programme. We certainly couldn’t acheive these results without you all.
